20 – 20 – 20 for 2012

Did you know that Colorado Youth at Risk served a record amount of youth in 2011? We impacted 358 youth through one-on-one mentoring, community-based mentoring and extensive training. Even with this growth, our graduation rate remained intact, as 90 percent of our youth continued on from high school, compared to 52 percent of students in the Denver area at large. This is an amazing accomplishment, and it wouldn’t be possible without our supportive mentors, donors, volunteers and partners.

We know the lives of all CYAR youth are significantly changed as a result of mentoring and training.  Bradley, a former mentee, said it best: “Before I didn’t have a planned course or destination, but my mentor showed me that you can turn your life around. You could fight against all odds.”

CYAR has set a goal to raise $20,000 by January 1, which will support 20 additional youth and 20 mentors in 2012. These will account for half of our mentor pairs at our next Launch Course. Join us in our commitment to successfully serve 20 more Bradleys, with 20 more caring, encouraging and supportive mentors in 2012.
