Drew will focus on implementing the new 3-year strategic plan focused on improving existing mentoring programs, increasing organizational sustainability, and some exciting new expansion opportunities. Drew was part of the Strategic Planning Committee that met weekly for 13 weeks over the summer developing the future of Colorado Youth at Risk. His involvement with this planning group, his non-profit management expertise, and long history with CYAR uniquely situate him to lead CYAR into the future.
Drew joined the staff in March 2009 and was most recently Program Director responsible for overseeing program delivery, staff management, and evaluation. He was formerly a CYAR program manager responsible for Steps Ahead and Touchstone programs at George Washington High School. Drew also volunteered for nearly six years with Colorado Youth at Risk serving as facilitator, logistics manager, mentor manager, group leader, and mentor, prior to being on staff.
Before joining the staff of CYAR, Drew was the Executive Director of the Colorado Alliance for Drug Endangered Children in Boulder, Colorado (a non-profit conducting policy and advocacy work for families struggling with substance abuse) and worked as a college-level lacrosse coach for 9 years. Drew earned a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado at Denver in 2007, and a BA in Psychology from Gonzaga University in 2001.
